LinkedIn Introduces Duolingo Integration and AI-Powered Interview Prep

LinkedIn has unveiled two new features aimed at strengthening how professionals showcase skills and prepare for career opportunities: Duolingo certification on profiles and AI-driven job interview simulations.

The partnership with Duolingo allows members to display verified language proficiency scores directly on their profiles. Until now, LinkedIn users could only self-report language skills, which offered little assurance to recruiters about actual fluency. By linking Duolingo scores, professionals can provide measurable evidence of their abilities, with the added benefit of automatic updates as learners improve.

“For a long time, language skills on LinkedIn have been self-declared, which is helpful but not always enough to give recruiters confidence in someone’s fluency. Now, with the option to add your Duolingo Score on your Profile, we’re making those skills more credible,” LinkedIn explained in its announcement.

This feature responds to growing demand for multilingual talent in global industries, where language proficiency often plays a central role in hiring decisions. It also underscores a trend in recruitment toward verifiable digital credentials, reducing reliance on self-assessments.

Alongside the Duolingo integration, LinkedIn is introducing AI-powered job interview simulations, available initially to Premium subscribers. The tool generates mock interview questions tailored to a specific job description, giving candidates a chance to rehearse in a low-pressure environment. By mirroring the structure and language of real postings, the simulations can surface potential weak spots and help applicants refine their responses.
