Ghost Now Connects to Mastodon, Threads, and More
Ghost, an open-source platform for newsletters and blogs, has integrated with the fediverse – a decentralized network of social platforms – through the ActivityPub protocol. This integration enables Ghost users to share their content across various federated platforms, including Mastodon and Threads.
The integration is currently in beta and available to Ghost(Pro) subscribers. Users can activate this feature by navigating to Ghost Admin > Settings > Labs. Once enabled, this functionality allows posts published on Ghost to be viewed and interacted with by users on other federated platforms, thereby enhancing content reach and engagement.
In addition to content sharing, Ghost has introduced a “Reader” feature, which aggregates news articles and blogs from platforms like Ghost and WordPress. This feature provides users with a centralized location to access and interact with content from various sources within the fediverse. This development positions Ghost as a more open alternative to competitors like Substack, which largely restricts content sharing off-platform.
With platforms like Bluesky seeing a lot of traction due to their independent nature and focus on a good user expeirence, tools like Ghost are in a prime position to be used for marketing purposes – as well as a good way for creators to plan out their content and keep it consistent across all of their social media spaces.
