AI Networking Startup Boardy Raises $3M For Development
AI networking startup Boardy has secured $3 million in pre-seed funding to develop an AI-powered platform for professional networking. Co-founded by CEO Andrew D’Souza along with Matt Stein, Shen Sivananthan, and brothers Ankur and Abhinav Boyed, the startup aims to use AI to create business connections between professionals that would otherwise never have found one another.
Boardy functions through a voice-based AI assistant that connects users over the phone. Users receive a call from “Boardy,” who learns about their professional goals and identifies relevant contacts within its network. With a double-opt-in approach, Boardy only facilitates introductions if both parties express interest, ensuring aligned expectations for networking.
Currently, Boardy’s network includes thousands of contacts, primarily drawn from D’Souza’s personal and professional circles of investors, entrepreneurs, and creators. The service is geared toward professionals seeking connections with customers, investors, co-founders, and opportunities within accelerator programs. This $3m funding round will be used to support the development of Boardy’s AI, with the intent being to create a near-flawless professional matchmaker that can connect professionals in a fast, reliable way.
While specifically a networking platform and not a conventional social media site, the technology used for Boardy could still be impressive. Even if Boardy remains as its own standalone service, similar technology could eventually become the norm for certain social media apps, expanding on systems like X’s “suggested follows” with more specific and custom-tailored results.
