TikTok Simplifies Content Creation with “Delete and Re-Edit” Option
TikTok is testing a new feature that allows users to delete and re-edit uploaded videos within the app. However, the feature only applies to edits made within TikTok’s platform, meaning clips edited in external apps like CapCut are not covered.
This function enables creators to remove edits made to a video and start over, providing flexibility for those who want to improve or revise their content without starting from scratch. This option is particularly useful for creators who manage the entire video production process within TikTok, simplifying the re-editing process when new ideas or revisions arise after a video is posted.
While users could already delete a video and re-upload the original, this new tool streamlines that workflow for those without the original footage saved elsewhere. Theoretically, this could be used for everything from making last-minute edits to removing product placements if brand deals fall through, all without removing the original content entirely.
Although this is only one small feature that won’t benefit every single creator, it opens up a lot of opportunities for creators and advertisers alike, and allows for quick and easy content revisions.
