TikTok Partners with Klook to Launch Travel Booking Feature
TikTok has entered into a strategic partnership with Klook, an Asian experiences platform, to offer direct travel booking capabilities within the app. This collaboration allows users in seven Southeast Asian markets and Japan to seamlessly book travel experiences through TikTok.
The integration is part of TikTok’s broader strategy to move from merely inspiring users to enabling them to take action. As social media becomes increasingly influential in travel planning, this partnership reflects a growing trend towards social commerce.
Klook’s “Kreator” influencer program, which has enlisted over 20,000 content creators, is central to this initiative. The program empowers influencers to share travel deals and discounts, driving value for both users and merchants.
Marcus Yong, Klook’s Vice President of Global Marketing, highlighted that Gen Z and Millennial travelers, who comprise 70% of Klook’s 60 million monthly visitors, are increasingly seeking travel inspiration through platforms like TikTok. This partnership aims to capitalize on that trend, connecting content discovery with booking functionality.
The Klook-TikTok partnership reflects a broader industry trend of social media platforms expanding into serving an e-commerce role. This new feature makes it easier for both individual users and entire friend groups to book trips directly through TikTok, and is unlikely to be the only travel partnership that the platform makes in the near future.
