Bump – Location-sharing App Releases New Features
Location-sharing app Bump has released its new ‘OMW! supersend’ feature to facilitate friend meetups by providing real-time navigation and progress updates.
The app is one of three social apps by amo, the makers of Zenly – another popular location-sharing app acquired by Snapchat back in 2017.
Bump aims to make it easier to seamlessly meet up with friends, with this latest feature designed to streamline that process.
Now, users can simply send an OMW! supersend and both parties can track each other’s journey directly on their lock screens. By doing so, the update can help make agreed meeting points a thing of the past and removes the need for back-and-forth texts to find your friends. It also shows users live updates on lock screens.
Another new update introduced is the interactive ‘Bumping’ feature. By shaking their phones simultaneously when near each other, users can send notifications to all their friends, signaling that a hangout session is in progress. ‘Bumping’ introduces a fun and spontaneous way to connect with friends nearby and make impromptu plans on the fly.
The platform focuses on providing a smooth user experience optimized for mobile usage, so that it doesn’t drain your phone’s battery and data and up-to-date locations load quickly on your map.
It offers additional details like your friends’ phone battery level, the speed they’re travelling at, and any other friends who are near them.
