Linkup – Meetup App Soars Through $1M Investment Round
Linkup, a platform connecting its users through in-person meetups, is halfway through its $1 million investment round – marking a significant milestone in the app’s fundraising journey.
Developed with the aim of helping people expand their social circles IRL, Linkup is a space where users can plan activities to do with others who share common interests.
The app’s ‘Just Stop Scrolling’ campaign in recent months emphasized its mission to combat the loneliness epidemic by helping people to engage in meaningful interactions beyond the digital realm.
Its CEO and Co-founder Jack Peegam has been actively pitching Linkup on social platforms like Linkedin to promote this latest investment bid and secure £1 million in funding.
Peegam’s approach to encourage potential investors to participate in the round has so far included some eye-catching stunts. These include photos showing him on top of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa building and diving in the city’s Aquarium & Underwater Zoo – both created with the help of Photoshop’s AI tool.
However, a recent update shared by Peegam is actual footage of him skydiving with some of Linkup’s new investors. The announcement showcases the growing interest in the app, as well as Peegam’s appeal to potential investors who resonate with its vision and spirit for adventure.
The latest confirmed investors pictured are prominent figures, including travel content pioneer Jay Alvarrez and serial entrepreneur Zach Garfias. Another is Redbull athlete Jokke Summer.
In his post, Peegam also encourages potential investors to reach out directly to him to take part in the investment round that is quickly gaining momentum.
