Social Discovery Insights is constantly on the lookout for new players, disruptive business models, and innovative technologies, in the social discovery market.

  1. Morale: This app’s uplifting mission is to promote positive social interaction, by allowing its users to send anonymous compliments and morale-boosting messages to friends.
  2. BeFriend: Formerly known as Swipr, this newly re-branded app allows you to connect and make friends with strangers by swiping right when shown a profile of someone who matches your interests and location.
  3. Muriel Network: This paid app offers a networking space for women working in wealth management, with the aim of allowing its users to find community and support in a sector that remains largely an “old boysclub”.

In Case You Missed It! Here’s last week’s Startup Roundup:

  1. Lox Club: This member’s club app “for Jew-ish people with ridiculously high standards” is available in all North American cities. It aims to facilitate authentic and meaningful connections via members-only events, with some features dedicated to those who are looking for love. There is a waitlist and membership fee for those hoping to join the club.
  2. swsh: Gen Z’s answer to the Y2K trend of collaborative Facebook photo albums, swsh app has found its market fit by focusing on offering its users a platform to collaborate on & help friends to share pictures from parties, trips, and other memories.
  3. Seam Social: A Web3 social networking platform founded by an ex-Meta employee where users can design, code, and curate Myspace-like profiles.
