Muzz Social – Muslim Dating App Adds Social Networking
Muzz Social is a new groups-based social networking feature within the Muzz app, the U.S.’s biggest dating and marriage app for Muslims with over 10 million members globally. It’s now available to Muzz users based in the U.S., U.K, Canada and Australia.
Muzz, formerly known as Muzmatch, is the global leader in Muslim marriage apps after reaching a 10 million user milestone earlier this month.
The newly launched social feature is advertised as a game changer for the Muslim community, with the aim of allowing its members to connect and form friendships over shared interests based on their faith.
The feature automatically adds users to different groups relevant to them, and lets them join other groups they are interested in.
For example, if you’re a Muslim woman living in London, Muzz Social would add you to the ‘London Muslims’ group and the ‘London Sisters’ group, so you can make friends and chat to other Muslim men and women in your city, or socialize in the Muslim women-only group depending on your preference.
The social discovery feature hopes to remove the issues Muslim users encounter on other platforms, from getting shadowbanned or blocked for posting about political topics like Palestine, or seeing content on their feeds that is indecent and not halal.
Shahzad Younas, the app’s CEO and founder, explains how friend-finding on Muzz Social works in this video:
The social feature has seen lots of engagement from users since launching, with over 6000 posts made and 20,000 comments from the community in its first day.
Soon those who are only looking for friendships and community will also be able to sign up, as Muzz shared its plan to open up to all users, not just those looking for a partner, from April of 2024.
A full global rollout in different languages is planned for this summer, in June or July 2024.
Muzz also plans to add to Muzz Social’s features in the coming months, including custom groups, custom events, private groups and private chat groups too.
