Partiful: Party-Planning App with $20M in Funding
A party is always stressful for one person in particular: the host. Partiful is a platform that is looking to streamline the party-planning process, and has raised $20 million in its Series A Round.
Suitable for a dinner party, or a club night, the platform looks to help hosts coordinate a group of people. Its mission is to “help foster friendships through social events”, it shares.
The platform describes its target audience as those “sick of Facebook Events, awkward group chats, and screenshotted flyers”. The platform helps users to plan social events even when they may not have everyone’s contact / social details, or if they want to reach friends-of-friends.
Additionally, it helps users to chat with other attendees, sharing photos and posts on the specific party page.
In addition to invites, Partiful addresses some of the logistical issues that come with organising a get-together, including approving guests, asking questions such as dietary restrictions, and helping to collect money from attendees.
The platform is headquartered in New York, where thousands of parties are organised each week through Partiful. In 2022 the platform raised $20 million in its Series A round, backed by investors Andreessen Horowitz and Initialized Capital.
